Our receptionists, Dana and Cindy, will be happy to assist you with your needs. They like to stay busy making appointments for the doctor, making reservations for our resort team and taking questions regarding your pets needs.

Dana has an Administrative Secretarial Degree.  She has worked in the veterinary field since 1991.  She joined us in August 1994.  She has a Schnauzer named Megan and a cat named McGwire.  Dana and Megan are a certified therapy team through the Delta Society  - Pet Partners and members of MO/KAN.  They visit area care facilities to bring joy to the patients there.  They are also R.E.A.D. certified to help  children build confidence in their reading skills.

Cindy joined Ark Animal Hospital in August of 1999.  She has a degree in Accounting.  She has been married to her husband Ron since 1977 and has two girls, Megan and Angela.  Her family also consists of one dog and named Billy Jack and a cat named Tom.  Her hobbies are bowling and spending time with her family.

Our nurses, Christie, Christy and Jessie, assist the doctors in the care of your pets.

Christie is a registered veterinary nurse.  She has always had a love for animals and feels blessed that she can care for the variety of pets that visit our hospital.  Her main roles here at the hospital include surgical anesthesia, client education, laboratory analysis, inventory management and patient care.  She enjoys spending time with her husband Chris, two dogs (Chewie and Skylar) and her three cats (Peach, Zorro and Gilligan).  Christie has had the pleasure of working at Ark Animal Hospital since 1996.

Christy has been with Ark Animal  Hospital since November 2006.  She is married to Jereme and has two kids, Brendon and Kristin.  Christy has a 5 year old hound named Bones and has 2 cats, Socki and Rascal.

Jessie joined us in 2007.  She has a bachelor's degree in Biology from Truman State University.  She and her husband, Tony have five cats.  Tali was adopted from a shelter.  She and her husband bottle-fed and raised Coal, Ember and Onyx.  Moe came home with her from a clinic she worked at previously.

Our resort staff, Emily and Melanie, take care of our dayschool, resort and salon.  They really enjoy pampering your furry family members while they are here in their home away from home.

Emily has been a part of the Ark Animal Hospital staff since 2002.  She has been training family pets since 1997.  All five of her pets are AKC Canine Good Citizens.  Emily actively competes with her German Shorthair Pointers in AKC Obedience and has earned the Companion Dog title with her four-legged partner, Lucky.  Emily is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, a certified AKC CGC evaluator and has a degree from the Animal Behavior College in California.  She is a Scout Master and Co-Troop Leader for Dog Scouts.  She is certified to evaluate potential dog scouts.  She has passed the only nationally recognized exam for Certified Pet Dog Trainers.

Melanie has been employed at Ark Animal Hospital since 2003.  She has a Boxer named Freya.  Melanie married Steve in 1993 and they have two boys, Vince and Joe.  When not taking care of dayschoolers, boarders and helping wherever she is needed in the hospital, you can find her at a ballpark cheering on her boys.
