Salon

We use up-to-date equipment, even in our salon.

Dog Baths

When it comes to dog baths, nobody can top Ark Animal Hospital’s Salon because we love ‘em hairy! A dog bath includes; a pedicure, a full body brush, anal gland expression, a shampoo and conditioner suited to your dog’s needs (ex.– dry skin, white coat, etc.), blow dry and one last good brushing. Obviously, a dog with long hair will take longer to dry, so please plan accordingly. Our Salon staff will call you when your pet is ready to go home or you may set up a pickup time when you drop off.

Our larger furry friends can step right up for a bath.

Grooming Tips:

Start early. Begin desensitizing your pet to being handled as early as possible to avoid future phobias. Always use lots of yummy treats and praise, and keep sessions short. Always end on a positive note.

Cutting toenails is a problem for a lot of pet owners. Cutting the quick is both messy and painful for the pet. It also makes the animal that much more afraid next time you attempt a nail trim. It’s always better to leave the nails a little long and continue the next day. Begin trimming the nail where it begins to curve and get thin. Cut at an angle away from the foot. If your pet’s nails are sharp after a trim, you can file the nails with any acrylic nail file. Patience is key here, asking too much of you pet only makes both of you miserable.
