What to expect when
you and your dog come in for a Wellness Exam.
Comprehensive Examination |
The doctor will check everything from the tip of the nose to the tip of the tail. |
Vaccinations |
The vaccinations recommended are Rabies, Distemper, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza, Parvo, Leptospirosis, Bordetella, and Canine Flu. |
Heartworm, Lyme's and Ehrlichia
test |
This test looks for heartworms, seen in the picture on the right, which can be fatal if left untreated and is very easy to prevent. The test also tests for Lyme's and Ehrlichia which are tick borne diseases. When caught early, these parasitic diseases are much easier to treat. |
Intestinal Parasite Exam |
We check stool sample from your dog to check for any parasites
or eggs. These parasites can not only be harmful to your pet,
but some can actually be harmful to you and your children. |
Wellness/Senior Wellness
tests |
There are some things that you just cannot see from the outside. That is when we rely on the Wellness test (ages 4-6) and Senior Wellness test (ages 7 and up) to let us know what is happening on the inside. We look at values for the liver, kidneys, and thyroid as well as how the body is using the resources available. |
Interceptor |
Interceptor is a monthly preventative that you give to your
dog. It prevents heartworms as well as roundworms, whipworms,
and hookworms. |
